I'm updating from my brand new, HP Pavilion laptop!!!! Wee!!

Really, this is the coolest thing in the world...I can take it anywhere! Anywhere!!! I'm totally going to watch DVDs in my bedroom tonight...although really that's not much of a novelty as I have a DVD player and TV in my room...darn. Oh well, I'll get on AIM in my bedroom then! And I'll update my LJ from my bedroom!! This really is just the most awesome thing I've ever had in my life.

I think I'll do a nice, long update later on HBP...hurrah!

It's been a really long time since I last updated...Honestly, I'm thinking about just getting rid of this thing altogether. It just seems to me that nobody is reading it anymore, which is fine, I've had it for two years and it was a really great thing for me. But there are very few of you on my friends list who I actually talk to online and even less that I talk to in person. I have and have had a xanga now for about 9 months now...so if any of you still wish to read anything about my life, my username on there is "KatieAnnIsCool"

I may update this from time to time...I really do prefer LJ to xanga...but like I said, it just seems kind of pointless anymore.

I hope you all have a great time reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince this Saturday!!! I know I certainly will!!! :D

I'm back from orientation. I really had a great time! Going to Baylor is going to be such an amazing experience, I love it there so much! The campus is gorgeous, in fact, I think I'll post some pictures of it at the end of this post. The people are so very friendly, as we walked around the campus we passed a lot of different people and all of them said hello to us. My dorm is pretty dang awesome too! I am so excited for college, I wish I were moving there tomorrow!

My course load for next year is pretty small, hours-wise. On top of all the credited hours, I have about 3 more hours that are uncredited plus 15 recitals to attend throughout the semester. I've got my work cut out for me. Here's what my schedule looks like:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday-- 9AM-9:50:Theory I
                          10AM-10:50:Chapel Forum
                          11AM-12:20:Concert Choir
                          2PM-2:50:Piano I (Group)
                          5:30PM-6:20:Religion (The Christian Scriptures)
Tuesday/Thursday--11AM-11:50:Musicianship I
                  2PM-2:50:History (1400-1750)
                  5PM-5:50:Voice Studio

And on top of all of this I must have an hour long voice lesson, and I also have to practice a LOT. dlkasjd;lajsd;ljkad SO MUCH TO DO!! Tuesdays and Thursdays should be fun for me...Mondays and Wednesdays shall kick my ass!! :D Yay!!

Your Political Profile

Overall: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

Social Issues: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Ethics: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

Hmm...not as conservative as I thought. Interesting! Well...the fact that I'm vehemently opposed to the death penalty could have helped with the liberal percentage.

Anyway! I'm leaving for Waco in about 20 minutes for Freshman Orientation!! I'm really nervous about having to be on my own for most of the day. I really hope I make some friends, you know?

I think I'm about to start my period. That makes me mad. But it's something that obviously has to happen. Ah well, this should make for a pleasant trip with my parents. Ugh!

Alright, I've got some last minute packing to do...

50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese.
71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.
150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar.

Tonight I celebrate my 18th birthday!

I'm having a dinner party for some of my friends, and that should be fun. Then we're all going to go see Madagascar, which is the funniest movie I have ever seen in my life. We're all going to be dressed up too, so that will make it even more fun!

So yeah, I turn 18 in a week and a day! My parents and I are going to go down to Galveston for the day and just kind of chill at the beach and do some other fun stuff. We're also going to rent this little carriage type thing that you can take along the seawall. It's something I've wanted to do my whole life and now I'll finally get to do it! Oh the simple joys in life...

Well, I'm needed at Liz's house in about 2 hours so I should probably start getting ready.

Have a great day!

I finally watched Lord of the Rings last night. Yes, this is true, I was a Lord of the Rings virgin until last night. Up until then I had just not seen the appeal of the movie, I had tried to watch it before but quickly gave up because I found it boring. But now...now I see what's so cool about it. I still have to watch the second and third movies...but I think maybe I'm going to have a new obsession.

In other news...my tailbone is still bruised and it still hurts. I wish the pain would stop being there, it's really inconvenient when one has to sit for long periods of time.
